For those visitors loving adventurous horseriding, Ilha do Guajirú has a superb outback region for you to explore.

Simply contact one of the workers at the coconut plantation who own horses or know someone who will, this is the fastest way to get yourself into a saddle.

You don’t need any guide if you’re a competent rider, in the worse case just let the horse go and it will bring you back home!

Horseriding on the beach is stunning and you will quickly realise why the beaches of north eastern Brazil are counted around the most beautiful in the world.

But don’t gamble on the horse to be less fit then you, working on coconut plantations everyday, the horses will stand up to longer trips then you will!

The cost of horseriding is very cheap at Ilha do Guajirú, you pay around €5 per hour to the owner.

Its best to get out in the early morning before the tropical heat arrives, or in the early evenings.
